Alishba is 20 and from Jaipur. She lives with her parents and three sisters. Alishba has graduated and works for an NGO and does housework in the evenings and around work. She aspires to do a government job. She admires her older sister, who is a teacher. In her free time she hangs out with her family and she enjoys being at home, playing with her nephews, cooking and stitching.

“There is nothing that had happened in my community but I could say that in the lockdown period weddings were happening… The poor girls got married too and this impacted the other parents to think of their children to get married. They started thinking that study is secondary but wedding is primary – and I would tell about myself that I have also faced this issue… This is the only thing I am worried about and I am tensed about whether I will able to make my future or get wed. Anything can happen now. To tackle this I am denying the proposals now. Now I want to complete my beautician course so that I could stand on my feet.”
